Gorgonzola & Beetroot Pickle on Onion Bread

Ingredients:

Onion Bread
Gorgonzola
Beetroot Pickle
Mixed Leaves

Lightly toast the bread then adding the Gorgonzola grill until warm & soft but not properly melted
Spread with the Beetroot Pickle and add the mixed leaves

Enjoy!

Welcome to The Perfect Cheese Sarnie!

Although dating back thousands of years the Sandwich as we know it today is attributed to the 4th Earl of Sandwich who instructed his servant to put some meat between two slices of bread so he easily hold it whilst out hunting

Fast forward to the 21st Century and they are everywhere from a quick snack from the newsagent to the gourmet varieties found in more upmarket eateries there's no doubt that they are a staple part of many a persons diet and they have been of mine since I was knee high

I have also have a love of cheese in all it's forms (except maybe that American gloop you get on Nacho's at Cineworld!)

Actually my love of cheese borders on an addiction but I'm doing well at keeping it under control these days. Rather than simply allowing myself to eat any old cheap & nasty stuff I try and keep my pleasures reserved for the more refined varieties and only a few times a week, honest ;-)

The humble cheese sandwich represents to me an item of culinary genius with endless possibilities for different flavour combinations and textures

With this Blog I'm hoping to explore and comment on some of those variations as I hunt for my personal perfect cheese sarnie

I'll be giving tasting notes and scoring them out of 10 based on five categories
